Hey there! Today, we're talking all about self-esteem. It's natural to feel insecure from time to time, but if it's a constant battle, it can be exhausting. That's why I wanted to share some tips from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to help you build that confidence and feel good about yourself!

1. Identify your negative thoughts

The first step is to recognize those negative self-critical thoughts that are holding you back. Maybe you tell yourself you're not good enough or compare yourself to others. Write them down and challenge them. Is it really true that you're not good enough? Can you really compare yourself to others when everyone is unique?

2. Replace negative thoughts with balanced ones

Once you've challenged those negative thoughts, replace them with balance ones. Thoughts that take into account both sides not only the negative one. Maybe you made a mistake but it was a one off. Maybe someone made a nasty comment about you but others say only good things. Negative thoughts tend to be very biased and only look through dark specs! Instead of thinking "I'm not good enough," try "I have many strengths and skills." It may feel awkward at first, but keep practicing and you'll start to believe it. You can also practice affirmations

3. Focus on your accomplishments

It's easy to get caught up in what we haven't achieved yet, but it's important to celebrate our accomplishments, no matter how small they may seem. Make a list of things you're proud of and refer back to it whenever you need a confidence boost.

4. Engage in self-care

Self-care isn't just bubble baths and face masks (although those are great too!). It's about taking care of yourself physically, emotionally, and mentally. Make sure you're getting enough sleep, eating well, and doing things that make you happy.

5. Surround yourself with positivity

Surround yourself with people who lift you up and support you. Avoid those who bring you down or make you feel bad about yourself. This includes social media - unfollow accounts that make you feel inadequate and follow those who inspire you.

Remember, building self-esteem is a journey and it won't happen overnight. Be patient and kind to yourself. You deserve to feel good about who you are! #selfesteem #CBT #confidenceboost #mentalhealthawareness
